I'll be interested in hearing how this pepper is. I want to try it, but didn't want to place an order for 1 item at TGS this year. It isn't sold at many online retailers. Sometimes the local Meijers has a few of these plants buried in with regular cayenne. However, Meijers doesn't baby their peppers like I do. lol.

This is not a new variety, the seed packs can be found at most stores that offer seeds such as Big Lot, Job Lot, WalMart and feed stores such as Agway.
I've grown Super Cayenne Hybrid and Super Cayenne II Hybrid for years and found them to be just as pungent and have the same flavor as standard Cayenne.

The basic differences I've noticed were larger fruit/plants and disease resistance. I found the standard Cayenne to be slightly more prolific.

i grew cayenne superII hybrid from cross country nurseries stock. more prolific than, but not as flavorful as, old reliable long red slim. i went back to long red slim this year. ymmv.

Thanks everyone for your reviews. I was wondering if many people had grown it because it sat there for awhile with no replies. I wonder if that award it won is nothing really or if it really means something. Anways im sure results will be different depending on where you live. I think im just going to grow 3 grow three of these and 3 long slim cayennes. I will write up a big review at the end of the season and compare them on taste, production, size of the plant, ect. I was able to fine long slim at lowes so i didn't have to order any more so that is good.

I grew these for the 1st time. They grew big and long so I was happy. But I took 2 that had turned nice and red to make some hot sauce. I put a couple seeds in my mouth and were not hot. I cut a piece of the pepper off and ate it. It tasted like a red bell pepper, sweet but no heat at all. I ate a bunch more with same results. So disapointed. I wanted hot peppers to make hot sauce with and also to dry to make hot powder. Won't grow these next year.
