? about indoor pollination

I am overwintering a seedless hot pepper that I didn't want to lose. After moving to a different apartment building in Dec, all of my plants took a nose dive for a while until I got them placed where I wanted them. My hot pepper is not in the best place it could be, but where it is getting the most light(near a window, but over a baseboard heater). It has started to put out flowers again along with another pepper(sweet)that is also recovering. My question is, since this hot pepper is seedless, do I need to hand pollinate, and can I use the sweet pepper flowers? Would it be like planting a pollinating watermelon near a seedless watermelon? The reason I ask is because many of the new flowers are dropping, and I realize it may be from the heater below them, but I also thought it might be from not being pollinated. Am I being a total idiot? Any responses are greatly appreciated.
