I had a tree Yucca down in my basement that has done great all winter near my light set up - lately though the bottom leaves turned soft drooped down and became mottled and yellow - Yesterday,I cut all the rotting dying stuff off the bottom and moved it up into a very bright southern exposure window. Last week I noticed a honey like substance coming out of the trunk half way up, eventually it dries black - what is this? (honeydew)is this natural or is a insect causing this - Does this plant have scale?
