I had more Serrano peppers than I could eat, so I decided to put some of them in a jar of pickled beets I had in the fridge. To my surprise the heat of the peppers was cut in half by soaking in the beet juice, but it didn't any heat to the beets. I sometimes put peppers in with store bought pickles & they retain their heat.
Anyone else found these kind of results?
