It really grew a lot over the winter

It's blooming big time!

No frost damage at all

We had a terrible winter! I wasn't sure it was going to make it without damage but not a bit of damage, it's like I just wrapped it and it grew a good foot or two over the winter.

This picture is from April 2013 when we unwrapped it last spring, you can see that it's almost touching the top of the box in this years pics.

Very nice palm. You did a great job with its protection. Doesnt look like it has even been through winter. That box is getting out of hand. Your going to have to switch to mummy wrapping in a few years.

Wow! That is one of the healthiest looking windmill palms I have seen. A lot healthier looking than mine and mine doesn't look bad at all. That must have been the ultimate protection.

Wow! What's your heat source for the box?

Just a little heater with a thermostat on it that kicks on when the temperature drops to 32, the key is to keep it dry. This tree has been in the ground about 6 years.

Im in Detroit Michigan area I have two smaller one's thata survive last Michigan winter and they r doin great here wit little protection now just got a bigger one its about 4 foot and a3 ft big trunk got it late this year don't wanna put it in the groun now its too late its still in his 7 gal original pot but next spring its going in the ground just want to know what kind The Little heater whit termostat you're using. I already have a 2 thermometers for my 2 ones but the heater comes with thermostat I think

Thanks again but how do you set up this to kick on 32F no numbers its just Hi and Lo how do you know its gonna be on 32 I would like to know the settings of it! maybe I'm asking to much but I will appreciate that! Thanks
