Lol, well they do flower...at least in the sense they make cones. I know I've seen cones on the very large specimen at the U of A campus, Fayetteville. I guess most lawn specimens aren't mature enough to fruit though. Mine is only about 45 feet high.

That sunflower is probably deliriously happy to be able to grow in dappled shade and not roast in the hot sun all day.

dbarron, I am sorry to say mine produce cones and they are not near as large as yours. I think the trees are pretty, but I don't like the cones.

Dawn, I hope the Sunflower is happy. I will make another statement about the Cyprus tree shade. Last year my son gave me some squash plants, because I had no space to put them I planted them under this Cyprus tree. I had good production from those plants. This year I tried it again, I have lost 8 squash plants, but none from under the Cyprus tree. I am not sure if squash plants love shade or is squash bugs hate Cyprus cones.
