I tried looking up Rhapis "alicea" but couldn't find it. Do you know which species it is? I have 3 species of Rhapis and they all sucker well, although they are generally slow growers. Lzrddr is probably right, might just need more time.

I think giving it some good fertilizer that works well for palms should give you the best growth, thus, more offsets. I use 360 day Nutricote 18-6-8 formula. It gives a constant good feed for the entire year. I use that on all my Rhapis, and I have about 50 of them, of all kinds of types and color patterns.

Rhapis 'Alicia' is a hybrid finally officially named by Don Hodel and Louie Hooper (the actual creator of this hybrid- named after his daughter I think)- Rhapis humilis x Rhapis laoensis. Has some of the nice qualities of both- think, bare stems of laoensis, and thin, hardier leaflets of Rhapis humilis. Slow growing and offsetting takes time.. be patient and water it well.

lzrddr: you are exactly right as to the source of the hybrid and the cross involved. Really nice plant. I'd like it to get closer to the picture you posted. I'll add patience to my water/fertilizer strategy.
