They are both CIDP. And you are correct, they were trimmed differently.

Hello. The second picture you have is of a female tree that will bear dates if it is pollenated. The first tree looks to be a little older than the one I have in my front yard. I have a male tree that I would guess to be about 30 years old. It has about 4 feet of trunk. I took these photos March 20, 2013. Some of the CIDPs in my neighborhood are hybrids as the leaflets hang vertically instead of horizontally like the ones on my tree.

Hi. Well I am no expert and I am sure growth rates will vary, but I grew a CIDP from seed and it was less than 2 feet high at 8 years old. This palm was mostly indoors however. These palms along with many other species can live a long time and grow slowly. So yes I bet that second palm is 60 years old. If you get a chance to see the old 3 Stooges movies from the 40s, notice how small the street palms are in the films. This would be the Los Angeles area and the palms are about 15 feet high.

I'd say the first one is 30 or so, and the second one is between 80 and 100 years old. The conditions in which it is growing would greatly affect the rate at which it has grown.
