Looks to me like it's been grown 'hard' -- that is, with lots of sun and a minimum of fertilizer. It kept the plant more compact.

I'm looking for a nice healthy cutting like that, where can I get one like that? Is Matt a seller, or did you trade? Or maybe a friend?

Sure. Here's mine I started as a cutting in 1998. Its had one serious kill back..a disastrous plant out in a wet and cold winter in 2010. It basically was just a big cutting once again.

Here is mine at front yard facing west. Still keep blooming. Got black tips every winters but quick recovered and getting multiple tips.

btw,,Another Plumeria I have that has a flower color the same as Celadine?..doesnt have the nice glossy leaves- its a flat army green. The flower itself is only 75% the size of Celadine..and most importantly of all..in my cool summer it hasn't bloomed this year. Celadine is blooming better then ever.

If your going to try a first or only just one Plumeria? Celadine is near the top of the thousands.

Just to report I saw a red Plumeria half the size of mine in a 15 gallon pot at Home Depot today ( Actually it was the largest and nicest Plumeria I've ever seen for sale in the bay area) and it was $99. Yes,that is why I didn't buy.

To locals? Its just more of tropicalia more and more and at larger sizes being tried in the bay area.

I'm waiting for Royal Palms to be sold.
