It's the way that Amorphs grow. The tuber (they're not bulbs) shrivels up producing the leaf. The leaf produces a new tuber. The larger the tuber, the larger the leaf it produces. The larger the leaf, the larger the tuber it in turn produces, until it has built up enough to flower. Breaking off the growing shoot has forced the tuber to find a new area from which to send up a shoot. In the case of yours, 4 points responded but the leaves coming up will form their own individual tubers. The only ones I've seen that have had more than one leaf at a time and still retained only the one tuber have been young Amorphophallus titanum.
