Single Light source different plant stages

I have been growing (what I hope to be) bhut jolokia plants indoors from seeds. I am using a single light source for all 8 peppers.

But now the peppers all seem to be in different stages of growth, and one is starting to flower.

Up to this point they have been under 24 hours of light. But once they start to flower I wanted to cut the light to 12 hours.

First off do these plants look healthy so far?

And about the light, should I cut the light to 12 hours now, or maybe go to 16/8 to start, or should I pluck the flowers and wait for the other plants to catch up?

    You have a problem.

You need a reflector on those bulbes. They look like HPS.

    1. you waste most of the light it goes to the walls and ceiling. you want the light on the plant leaves.

    2. the light is very dangerous to your eyes. You will go blind. You must keep the strong direct light off your eyes.

GET A REFLECTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE TO VIEW THAT STRONG LIGHT. AT MINIMUM WEAR STRONG AS POSSIBLE SUN GLASSES UNTIL YOU GET THEM UNDER A REFLECTOR.

THE LIGHT IS DAMAGING YOUR EYES WITHOUT YOU NOTICING IT. YOU WILL GO BLIND. DO NOT FOOL AROUND WITH STRONG LIGHT.

Yeah I know I don't have a hood for it. But it is in a room made of mirrors. The room is closed in completely on top and all sides. I know I am still loosing light but it is the best I can do for now. The light is always turned off before I open the door for watering or inspection of the plants.

The plants look great. How many watts are you running in the room. my opinion is that they grow according to the light they receive. so they grow exactly twice as fast with 24 hours of light as with 12 hours of light. I would not remove the flower buds unless you plan on putting them outdoors and feel they might get shock and need extra time to grow bigger roots.

If you remove the flower buds now you will simply take longer for new buds to form and give you peppers. Also as the plant gets bigger you might run into trouble. I would get the peppers as soon as possible.

I would just keep doing exactly what you are doing now and be patient. Those peppers are coming fast.

Do you remember when you planted the seeds. Those plants look great.

now I notice that It looks like you have them in 5 gallon buckets which will limit the plants. DO NOT REMOVE THE FLOWER BUDS. The plant will be limited by the buckets no matter what you do. Just let it grow. The plant will put on the correct number of peppers and then stop blooming until the peppers are ripe or picked before it starts to grow again. make sure the flowers get pollenated.
