no heat source for them ,,, just wrap them for the winter

this is a trachycarpus against the house

I don't protect mine, so here in Zone 7 NJ, these will grow without any protection...

needle palm (Rhaphidophyllum hysterix)
sabal minor
sabal minor 'louisiana' (this one has a decent rate of growth too)

Trachycarpus will make it many years but last winter was a killer big time!

You might even get away with Chamaerops humilis, but needs good drainage. It suckers readily, so even if some of the clump is killed, it should pup...especially if protected.

P.S., I notice some running bamboo in the background. At least I think it's a runner. If so, I would get rid of it ASAP. If successful it will suffocate the palms in no time. Been there, done the running bamboo grove, never again! You are a zone colder, but let me tell you, bamboo is the ONLY plant I literally have had multiple nightmares over!
