Beautiful roots! I would wait until the roots fill the bag, then the roots will hold the soil in a clump if you are careful One reason the bag method makes me a little nervous is if you do it too soon, when you open that bag, the roots all fall off and you have to start all over again.

Great job, Mindy! Looks like that'll be a healthy plant for you. I would wait until there are more roots and then cut the bag off from the bottom.

It's actually pretty easy to pot up from a baggie.

First, loosen and open the bag at the tape (the top).

Then partially fill your pot with soil mix.

Carefully make a cut along the entire width of the bottom of the bag with a sharp scissors (but hold it all together and don't allow it to open up!) .

Then carefully set down the bag onto the soil in the pot. You can add more soil around the baggie at this point to stabilize it.

Then with some gentle tugging on the baggie from the top, it should open up along the bottom and should slide right up over the cutting with very little trauma to the roots.
