How about partially plunging them and mulching around them to cover the rest of the black container? It would work and the trees would love it too!!!

Thanks for the suggestions! Partial plunging would definitely be an attractive option, and I'm sure my trees would love it... but I'm not sure if the townhouse owners would let me dig holes in the edge of their yard :) It may be an option along the side of the house for a few select plants!

For those that will be lining a large wall, the painting should be a great option. I was thinking the plastic paint might work best.

Roxanne are their any paints you have found to be more weather proof?

I always use an acrylic....so easy and lasts. When painting on fabric I put a tad of Downy in it. I walk about with a brush and paint all the time in the garden... Laura, you will see this.....order and chaos with a tropical flair...... roxanne

I paint my pots also. I just painted these pots yesterday. I use Krylon Fusion and usually use a white or tan for sun reflection. This time is went for some color. They key is prepping the pot and making sure it is clean and dry. Using a scotchbrite pad to rough the surface a little will help with the paint sticking.

Im going to do a few more in that color and maybe an orange or yellow also. Just for reference those are #6 pots and I used one can for both. 4 or 5 coats each.
