Not sure what the space looks like exactly, but a simple white scheme with wood trims is uncluttered and makes the room feels more airy.

What color is fireplace? Cabin says cozy. Warm tones, Anjou pear by Sherwin w. or one shade lighter. I wouldn't go stark...as in white, you lose that cabin feel. Keep decor and items to a minimum, less is more, tidy, and key items you treasure will get the feel. Love seat, 2 comf chair flanking, all facing fireplace, small rug with nubby texture. Gold,cream,warm russet...throw blanket. Sow me pics..

The fireplace is shades of gray stone. We are in the process of closing the sale. So unable to do pictures flooring is still an option previous owner has remove the carpet. We're thinking to do a large tile throughout this space.

Large format tiles will definitely give it a larger feel - at least 18x18, or 24x24 even if there is room for it. Try to have tiny grout lines as this will give it the look of one sheet of material for an expanded feel.
