My goodness, no replies?

Well, I have not done a lot, but they say to make a clean sharp cut and allow it to dry for several days, afterwhich you can put it in loose potting soil with sparse watering. I don't know exactly when they say that it is best to do it, but I do it the end of season, when leaves are dropping naturally? The larger the cutting the less confident I would be? There may be a different solution just for a heavy stalk situation? You would probably need to stake it for quite a while? LB

I have a paper from the Fair and it says take cuttings March through May. Let dry out 5 days. Put in cactus mix (they do not like to be wet, so well draining soil is best. I also mix sand with the cactus mix. I buy at home depot. Where are you located???

I just attended a gathering where State Agriculture explained that there can be $1,000 fine if mailed without going through the Agriculture. They are in post offices and they are concerned about bringing into CA or other states parasites/diseases. They showed ALL kinds of photos of what can be brought into California. I know if you order from Hawaii or Florida (they are inspected). FYI.

I think if you exchange in CA - you're O.K.

This is what I do:
Cut off a piece that is in the way. Throw it in the garden so I don't forget it. Forget the cutting. Find cutting a week or more later. Cut off all the leaves and put it down to pot later. Forget cutting. Find cutting in 1-2 weeks. Look at cutting, throw it back in the garden for another week or two because I have to go to work. Find cutting. Stick cutting in another pot, in a flower bed or in a pot of good potting mix. Stick it back in the garden. Forget to water, find plant, move to more sun, forget to water. Find beautiful bloom sticking up from flower bed, investigate and find plumeria, which I now take care of. By moving it around in the garden and ignoring it.
Works everytime!
The main thing is to let them DRY before rooting. I've had the cuttings blooming laying on the ground and cuttings sitting around for 3 months before I finally do something with them.
