Too bad your dog is so tiny and clean. My daughter has an Alaskan Malamute that is large and stinky. She saves his fur in the spring and I spread it over the sweet potato bed. Between that and my young dog, our sweet potatoes were uneaten this year.

I've got some okra stem makers just like that. didn't bother much else in the garden but kept the okra pruned all year.

I spoke too soon. Went out this a.m. and part of our sweet potatoes looked like yours. It's ok though because it's time to dig.
