When to prune?

I got a 4-trunk pygmy date palm in August, and noticed that the bottom-most fronds on a couple of the trunks are kind of yellow, and have gone crispy. It's been transplanted to a new pot with neutral soil, and I staked in some palm food. It gets watered in the morning and evening every day (in Houston, where it's the hottest summer on record in 35 years!!) both directly into the rootball and surrounding soil, and as a spray/shower onto the fronds. It gets sunlight about 10 hours of the day, so not a lack of elements. The rest of the fronds appear happy and healthy, and the other two trunks aren't showing the same yellowing, so I don't think it's anything in the soil.

I'm wondering if it's time to prune these lower fronds. This is my first palm, so I'm not sure if the tree naturally sheds dead fronds, or if it's a good idea to take that into your own hands.

Below is a photo of the tree.

Thanks!
