Sunlight and Fragrance

I received my first Plumerias while working in Portland. The plants got minimal sun and the flower fragrance started to decline within 2 days. By 4 days there was almost no scent. I got home yesterday and put the plants in the sun for the last few hours of daylight and the fragrance had already started to increase after only 2 hrs in the sun. I had no idea they were so rapidly responsive.

Plumerias are most fragrant at night time. They emit the fragrance to lure sphinx moths to pollinate them. That could be the reason why you were able to pick up on the stronger scent the last few hours of daylight.
