Your tree looks so healthy with those beautiful Inflos... If I were you, I would wait until after they bloom and even better, wait until spring right before they start the new growth cycle. Since you live in San Diego, you could pot up when you like, but most like to pot up in the spring. I have done this right now, so it can be done in the summer... Some like to at anytime. But what would make me wait.. Those beautiful Inflos.. Let them flourish and bloom, then decide .

I know Bill in Costa likes to repot or pot up in the spring.. I do too, but have done it in the summer without any problems.. FYI...

I'm with Laura; I do it whenever but it stresses them when they're trying to bloom.

What may be the best compromise is to fill that outer pot with soil around the inner plastic pot, so the roots can grow out into the bigger pot. Then you're not interrupting the inflos at all as they grow, but the roots have access to more soil.

In my region our summers are so warm and humid that I have no issues repotting mid-season as long as the rootball is kept intact and there is no root damage in the process.

My problem usually involves allowing the plant to tip over or fall during the repotting process and I've sometimes broken off tips or inflos!

If you could gingerly cut away the pot with a big shears, you might have a less traumatic time of repotting.

I think your plant will flourish better with a repot in the long run -- and earlier rather than later.

But what is your weather doing? Are you getting heat and sun, or are you experiencing June gloom? Is so, then you'd probably want to hold off.
