Those look like Naga Jolakia the hottest pepper in the world. Be careful how you handle them and save the seeds!!!!

I think you're right! Looked them up and couldn't find a picture as clear as mine, but they're billed as the hottest pepper in the world. Oh my gosh, I'll probably never grow these. E-mail me if you want some of the seed.

Be careful! When (if) you cut into them, wear rubber or latex gloves and be very careful about inhaling the fumes. These are really, really wicked peppers that make the more commonly grown habaneros look like child's play.

I did it. I wore latex gloves and took them off when I was done as if I was handling blood-bourne pathogens. They are sitting on a plate to dry. I did not put the peppers in my compost material, but put them back in their plastic bag, zippered it and threw them in the trash. This would not be a good weekend for anyone to be going thru my trash looking for identity! LOL!

But really, with DH's sensitive stomach, and the hottest Jesse and I can handle being a smattering of hot sauce, there's no point in trying to do anything with what's left of the peppers.

So the seeds are drying on a saucer, labelled accordingly and if anyone wants them just let me know.

I am on vacation right now and will be back the first week of December. Please save me some seeds and when I get back I will send you a SASE. !!! Woww!!! I am very excited because I guess I've been bit by the pepper bug. I don't know what gets into me cause no one around me likes peppers hotter than a jalapeno but something keeps driving me to grow more and more hot peppers. I am thinking of selling habanero powder, I have about 3/4 of a gallon put up and more to dry. Have you checked the prices on the internet? Wow it's expensive. So maybe I'll find a market. But I would love to grow the hottest pepper in the world.
