Can my Hilo Beauty be saved?

As I said in my other posts... my Hilo Beauty has not progressed in 4 weeks. I am not sure what's going on with her.

{{gwi:1175802}}I couldn't pull the plant out b/c the soil is too dry. So I dug down about 1.5 inches and the roots look very dry and brittle.

So what in the world is going on? Should I water her and see if that will push her into waking up? I don't really want to lose her.

Looks like you need only to water it and wait. The tip looks really good, the stem looks firm and healthy. If your soil is that dry that is the reason for your brittle roots and not growth. With the heat and the temps that the black pot gets with the dry soil it will cause your roots to dry out like beef jerky.
Id water it keep it moist not wet and wait for a while. Since your HB had roots it should re-establish quickly. I will also keep my HB for you just in case..

It sure looks thirsty!! I bet you will see a huge difference in a few days...

I agree with James, the tips look very healthy too! Let us know how fast it responds to the watering. Just remember during the growing season, they all love the wet/ dry cycle. So.. When they are dry, water. Then let them dry out for a few days and then water again. Remember... Wet/ dry!!!

Lynn - I'm really sorry. When you first posted about it I thought you were talking about an HB you were trying to root. Hope she is doing better now.
