Miss Laura sent me some cuttings, too. I planted mine in a pot filled with vermiculite and they are leafing out - one even has a bloom head!

I never heard back from you so I wasn't sure you even received your cuttings.

First of all I wouldn't keep them in water any longer.. I personally don't like to water root, but I like to use the bottle method to root. Some people like to water root and have great success. I think James is the man who is the King of water rooting, however... He only keeps them in water for 4 weeks at the most, I believe . Like Kay mentioned, you can use half perlite and half cactus mix to root. They might have some root nubs if they are leafing out, so I would pot up and let them sit on a heat mat or on the concrete outside. It has been a while since I sent them to you and I was worried they were lost...

If they are soft or decaying, that is a different story. If they are still somewhat firm, then I would take them out of the water and pot them up and water... Bottom heat. They should love the Southern area that you live, if I remember correctly. I think I mailed to a PO box. I was worried they would sit for a long time.
Blooms can take up to a year or longer.. Hopefully the cutting/ cuttings i sent to you was ready to send one out.. Patience... ;-)
