THAI Raspberry Sundae

Thai RS is -not- suppose to have blooms this small. The few blooms that it had earlier were way bigger. I'm telling you that this plant is trying to mess with my head!

Well, I'll have something to show IT in a very short time! The Real McCoy will be here soon. :)

I was just kidding around having called Thai RS a "wannabe". The flowers were lovely but I don't remember much scent, although it was winter and it was growing under lights. We will see how it does next year.

Oh that's soo tiny and so cute! Well maybe when your real RS gets there it will ease the sting a little and maybe you can still enjoy this little beauty later when she blooms bigger. I honestly have never seen a bloom so tiny before. So in a way it's kind of adorable! :)

Please post pics when you get your new RS!

Hi Lynn. I've never seen flowers so small either. For some reason, my guess is that this plant has gotten stressed. The inflo has hung on for quite some time since the first initial bloom, then pushed a couple of buds that fell off, and this one opening so small. It looks like there may be yet another small bloom soon. Yes, it is kinda cute.

Mona, she'll get much bigger with some age. I doubt the Texas RS first blooms will be much more than 2 inches, though full-grown trees have up to 4 inch blooms. We just grow 'em bigger here, I guess, lol.

We'll call the Thai one "Petite Raspberry Sundae" :-)
