I'm the wrong one to answer because I also have an inflo that I feel needs to be whacked, but.... I'm taking a chance for now.

Just my thoughts, considering how hard it is to cut, but since you already have had roots form, even if only two, I would be tempted to make a wait and see game of it. However, Metallica is expensive, huh?

Yep me too! I'm not one to cut either. I would sacrifice the future for now so I can enjoy the flowers. I don't know if I have the mental fortitude to cut it off! :(

Mona, my rooted one was $120 plus shipping so that's my most expensive plant so far. She's finally waking up! My baby is barely 9 months old. I'm just glad she made it through our first winter together. Although I really babied her and she got to stay inside the house. So I'm not sure when she will bloom for me.

I got a Dazzler a month ago with the same problem. Just could not bring myself to cut the inflo.. It was worse as it was a diagonal cut cutting and only had roots on the one side.

It seems to be doing fine and I have enjoyed the blooms. It's a hard call.

I would send an email to the seller and let them know and/or ask them what they suggest. I suspect it cost big bucks so hopefully they will stand by their product.

If your Metallica even had 2 roots on it there shouldnt be an issue. I'd leave the inflo on and put the plant in a warm bright area. Give it ST and water when u do water, if you have SNG then Id apply that also....BUT DO NOT FERTILIZE with liquid or granular fertilizer, especially as potting soils usually have fertilizer in it.

Give it couple of weeks, if you see wrinkling then you may want to worry. Usually a new plant goes through a bit of stress or shock from the shipping and new environment. So your Metallica may just need a bit of time, but leave the inflo if you like for now. If you do cut it off the plant will divert the energy to roots and leaves.

I actually have noticed some wrinkling of the cutting over the past two days. I am going to watch it for now. At least enjoy some more of the blooms and likely cut off the inflo. I care more about the plant Han the inflo.

I agree. Do not cut and watch for wrinkles. That will be the best tell if the inflo is taking too much energy/resources.
