DIY Suet Cakes

Bluebird Suet

I use it for all birds

1 pound lard or waste fat (I save that for soap making so just buy lard at Wal Mart)

16-20 oz crunchy peanut butter

3/4 to l cup raisins

3/4 to l cup black oil sunflower or mixed birdseed

6 cups corneal (buy the cheapest)

5 cups AP flour (buy the cheapest)

Melt lard,

Pour into a very large mixing bowl, stir in other ingredients. Pour into cake pan. let cool until firm.

I use a 9x13 and just cut into 6 pieces to fit those little green wire cages.

I put the left over cakes into baggies and keep in the freezer until I need them.

I think you could mix anything into it that you know birds like to eat.
