Looks interesting. I'll look it up at B&N. A trip which has been long over due.

Thank you, Mr. Toad (love your name). I will look for it tomorrow as it's my book club day at our local B&N.

Another one I especially like is "The Potager: A Kitchen Garden in the French Country Style," by Louisa Jones. She lives in France and writes lots of books on this type gardening and gardening in general. She has a website, too, but some of it is in French. No translation yet, that I know of.

Sorry, Mr. Toad, I got a little speedy with my post and copy/paste, and put the wrong book title. It is "Kitchen Gardens: Beyond the Vegetable Patch." Louisa Jones is a contributor. This book is only available from BBG, as far as I know.

"Kitchen Gardens of France" is Louisa's book. It should be available from Amazon or B&N. It was a little pricey, as I remember - close to $30. It's been out for several years, so you could probably find it for less.

    Mr. Toad, Diana, and Jenn---

Thanks for the heads up on books...I'm such a sucker for them. I'll check which ones we have in the library and maybe use the B&N gift certificate I've been hoarding.

Our lib. has two books by Bird, one on foliage and one on vines. Wiped off the drool marks before I took them back.

    georgeanne who needs visuals!!!!!!

Georgeanne, if you need visuals, then I'd second the recommendation for Louisa Jones' books. They are filled with inspiration!
