First of all - I'm very much a novice with Plumeria and learning as much about them as I can. We bought a cutting and the stam was extremely soft. I potted it and gave it a good drink of Super Bloom and placed it in an area of our patio that got the most sun. Two days later it was firm and beginning to sprout leaves. I'd try it and see what happens. Good luck !!

I'm no expert either but that cutting looks healthy to me. Did you let it dry before replanting it? Was it white inside and did latex flow from both cut ends? If so I'd try rooting both sections again. Put some fungicide on the top of the cutting that was the bottom half of the original cutting, now a mid-stem cutting. If healthy it will grow like the one in the pic below (this was only a 3" piece of stem). The top half of the original cutting will grow as normal. Sorry if this sounds confusing. lol

As for the soft area I had a cutting that was growing leaves but there was a 3" section of stem about halfway up that was a bit soft. I didn't want to cut the stem to check for rot only to find none and then have to go through the rooting process again. Someone on this forum, I can't recall who, suggested piercing the soft area with a pin. If latex flows it should be fine. I was so greatful to have gotten that info because the plant was fine and is now doing beautifully. If the pin test hadn't been suggested I probably would have sliced the cutting to check for rot.

No, i didnt let it dry out. It was in the pot for 3 weeks already so i asumed that was enough?
There was a bit of white latex coming out of both ends.
I just powdered the other (no leaf) part, and put it in some substrate to.
I'll see what happens....
