Dwarf fruit trees

I plan to put two dwarf fruit trees at one end of the potager (one in each corner). I was thinking of using apples, but someone on the fruit forum recommended Dwarf North Star cherry trees. Does anyone grow these? They're supposed to stay about 8' - 10' tall and wide...perfect size for my potager. Also, they're hardy to zone 4 :)

I have a Dwarf North Star all the way down here in Texas (which might not help you too much). But I can say they stay quite small and are really lovely little trees. We bought a sapling about three years ago now, and it is a little taller than me at 5' 3" and the trunk is about 2" around. In general it's has a very nice shape and we look forward to it's blooms in the spring. To confirm - the cherries are *tart*. :P

Thank you for replying. If they stay small in your area, they should stay small in mine. That's what I wanted to know :)
