We have about 1/2 acre of old farm land that we let go and stopped mowing. In 10 years it has become overrun with every invasive plant known to the Maryland area. I'm looking for some plants, that I can plant that will compete with the thistles, vines and tree of heaven plants. Was thinking that a fast growing shrub would be best. I have blackberry bushes that get swarmed by several undetermined vines that I have to slash back several times a year. Extra bonus if the replacement plant/shrub is something my honey bees could use :)
