I too was left with quite a few figs left on the tree at year's end. Most were a bit dry although the skins looked ripe. The Breba crop is hard to harvest, beause the Cardinals are out in force eating them as soo as they get a little yellow color.
When the trees produce a lot, they will attract wasps, so hopefully yours is not near a doorway.
