Getting Roebelinis to flower

December 27, 2007

Can anyone tell me what time of year Roebis typically flower in Florida and if there is anyone out there who has gotten potted Roebis to flower. I have two large potted roebis. The first I bought in April 2004 and it pushed up a tine little flower last spring. The 2nd I bought last October and it obviously had come from Floida. It had old seed stalks and some pouches that browned after I moved it inside for the year. I would love to get these to flower next summer and I want to mimic the conditions that get them to flower like they would in the ground in Florida. I am giving them both heavy doses of artificial light. In addition the both get several hours of direct sun everyday.
