Beautiful!! My Divine is finally showing better color intensity this week due to the warmer weather. However, my Divine blooms are much much smaller than my Rhonda's... so opposite of yours. But you are correct both smell heavenly! :)

Nice! is it just me or is there a strong resemblance between those two flowers? Biggest difference seems to be a small difference in petal shape?

What does the divine smell like? I was thinking about ordering one from John on Monday since they are out of 1 gallon Rhondas.

It is faint, compared to Rhonda. I'd call it a light sweet smell.

Their colors are very similar under very hot conditions -- the intensity gravitates together. Divine's petals are not as round, and Rhonda seems to reflex back a bit more.

Compare the pix I took today, of blooms that have developed under temps about 10-15 degrees lower than the ones I posted on Thursday:

Rhonda:

Much paler and they resemble each other less. Heat brings out the gold/yellow middle of Divine MUCH more, and it looks more grainy while Rhonda is streakier.

Interesting change of look -- more "delicate" with the cooler temps (and/or tons of rain).

Thanks for telling be about its scent. One more question, what is the size of the divine bloom? I was just curious so I know wither to order one or not. :)

I'd say they are 3 - 3.5" across. I think that counts as "medium" sized?

My Divine's blooms are significantly smaller than that, I'd say around 2 inches. I have a very young plant though.
Rhonda is on my list for next year!!!

I'm not sure how old mine is, and it may be hard to tell, since this is a compact cultivar. I bought it at a nursery. Regardless, I'm impressed, and can definitely recommend it to anyone considering one!
