Coleus Questions

Hi everyone,

I live in the tropics and have a coleus question. I found this scrawny coleus growing wild. I literally pulled it out of the ground and transplanted it into a container. That was about 2 months ago. This thing is growing into a huge bush! I have had to stake it in the pot, yet the branches are so big and thick that their own weight snaps them off. I now have about 2 dozen growing from this one plant. I just noticed today, after two more branches snapped last night, that the branches have roots at the base of them. When I looked at the large plant closely, all of the big branches are still attached to the main stem, yet have masses of roots growing from the spot where they connect to the main stem. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Thanks for any help answering my question!
