I have several ceanothus shrubs, the cultivars Gloire de Versaille, Henri de Fosse, and Marie Simon. I've tried to germinate the seed, mostly without success. The standard cold stratification (I tried 3,4,6, and 8 weeks) didn't work, and heat treatments didn't work either. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm going to try treating with liquid smoke next.
