They are beautiful, but honestly so many just as lovely can be started by seed. I.E. Giant exhibition palisandra, Kong, black dragon, many of the mosaics. I noticed last year what a high price potted six inch Kiwi Fern was getting, but several years ago one could buy from Germania an "oak leaf" assortment and they looked so identical but with a nice assortment of patterns. Since KF has come out, I don't see any seedsmen offering the oak leaf form. Pity, they're missing a bet. One can also buy the strap leaf coleus by seed and it also makes an interesting and inexpensive alternative to the big buck lines. Some of the very common seed and plug ordered varieties do just fine sized up to four and six inch pots. Wizards series for instance. It may not have the fancy label on it, but a rose by any other name smells just as sweet.
