Hello all,

Back in November I took some cuttings of a Bridal Wreath Spirea. The cuttings are the diameter of a pencil by eight inches long. I wanted to see what would happen if I put the cuttings in water. Well they have sprouted small branches. The strange thing is however, no roots are forming. Where I clipped some smaller branches, that are submerged in water, small clumps that look like cotton balls have formed.

So, are these clumps roots? Will they turn into roots?
