any experience patenting plants?

Hi all, does any one here ever had any experience patenting a plant? And how well did that go? Can you share your experience about this? It may be about another half a year before, I will really consider getting really serious any of it. But I would like to hear any problems that I could face or the non difficulty about getting one. Anyone with experience with PlantHaven? Any comments and all suggestions would be great.

If it is a perennial plant, start by calling North Creek Nursery in PA.

Then call Terra Nova Nursery in Oregon.
Terra Nova does trademark deals, which is a simple way to make some royalties for a few years.

Lots of patented plants weren't so great or have been superceded by better plants. Like patented Daylily 'Back-eyed Stella', and patented Phlox paniculata 'Tracy's Treasure', where nobody bothered to check this Phlox for mildew tolerance.
