I had only seen six petal plumies, until I found a 7-petal Edi Moragne a week or so ago! Check this out!

Rachel's Cloud is a slightly lighter with more white form of Grove Farm that was found in Tahiti by Alan Zukowitz of Aloha Plumerias. Rachel is his daughter. Grove Farm is from Kauai and was named for the plantation where Bill Moragne lived I believe.

Hello Everyone!!!

Hi Chuy!!! Thank You!! I have waited years for these trees to grow from cuttings to finally mature and reach the point where they will bloom . It does take patience, but I love the challenge of growing these beauties here in Virginia. It takes more work than others in the south, but we try hard and when we have them bless us with their beauty, it is a time to celebrate.

We don't have nurseries around us to buy trees, so when we do buy from nurseries in Hawaii or Florida and or Cali...or acquire them as gifts, we have to allow the added time needed to finally see the blooms that we work so hard for. It is worth all of the time and patience though... So Thank You!!

Hi Barbra!! This is the first time for me and this beauty!!! Thank you, I really like this one too!!! The fragrance is a sweet floral fragrance, but they all seem to be except Miami Rose.. Lol. They all have that beautiful floral fragrance to me. I'm really not good at scents, but it does smell heavenly.
The blooms range from 3-4 inches and it seems to be a profuse bloomer already. Good keeping quality as well.

Very beautiful, Laura! It's quite distinctive with that speckled pattern, though Bill's Grove Farm looks a lot like it. Grove Farm here in Texas gets really dark and loses the mottling a bit.

George, that is a beauty of an Edi! Mine was ironically still blooming while I was away in Kauai, admiring two Edi trees growing near our resort. Just a warning: the two trees were HUGE. There is no way I'm keeping mine to a manageable height in a pot, lol! Yours will probably do great in the ground in CA.

The nice thing about them, though, was the beauty of the foliage, too. Giant, wide perfect leaves. I can see why Bill M. chose this as one of his best!

I'll post some pics of full-sized trees and blooms with some observations later.

I got my RC from Alan (at a garden show one year) who told me about it. I am pretty sure it was a seedling of GF that lived in Tahiti. I lost much of my GF in the freeze of 07 but restarted a cutting. My RC is about 8' tall and pretty thick.

I can't wait to see my grove farm bloom. I will finally be going down this week, I have not seen my plants for almost 3 weeks, I hope to see BLOOMS! Barbra

George that 7 petal Edi is gorgeous! How unique. I got a lot of 6 petals but never a 7. What are you feeding your plants over there huh? :)
