Calylophus drummondianus

Has anyone had any success propagating Calylophus drummondianus, aka Texas Sundrops, specifically var. berlandieri. I have been waiting for volunteers, tried layering, cuttings, bottom heat, no heat, broadcasting the litter, and planting pinches of it in pots. All to no avail. This has got to be one of the toughest plants I've ever tried to propagate.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
