they run on suckers .. did you separate and replant that which you dug ...

i dont know about the rooting part.. but you should probably add constant humidity as in a plastic bag.. in the shade ...

With tip cuttings you will need to tent, or if you have a mist system, mist. Tip cuttings will quickly wilt if humidity is not kept close to 100%. I put four tip cuttings, stripped of all but the top leaf or two, sometimes cut in half, into a square four inch salvaged nursery pot. I cut bamboo nursery stakes into about foot long pieces inserted into the corners of the pots, to support a clear plastic bag(I use clear bread bags or produce bags as long as they are clear)secured around the upper edge of the container with a rubber band.
