Jennifer, you can buy a heavy duty rubbermaid garbage can (20 to 40 gallons depending on how tight your space is and how much weight you want to push around) with a wheeled dolly. Get a short length of hose and use that over your faucet to fill it up. Get a 2 quart plastic pitcher and/or a 1 quart drinking cup (Walmart is good - hurry before the summer picnic stuff is all gone), and use your pitcher and cup to scoop the water out. You can also submerge a large watering can in the garbage can (we affectionately call them garbos at work).

Your other option is a regular hose and some sort of adapter designed for whatever type of faucet you have.

Use the plastic can idea then get a $50.00 sump pump and drop it in there with a hose fitting on top of the pump. Or you could get fancy and use a RV pump and a 12 volt battery and then you would be self contained.------ Just a thought--Upnortdareh

Worked for a very short while at a retail nursery with one of those fancy indoor watering carts. It was a royal pain in the butt to refill and keep pressure on. Would have been OK for a small floral displays, but they expected me to water potted trees and everything with it. LOL. I just dragged in the hoses from the outside nursery and did the deed in 1/4 the time and let the water cart sit.

A coworker said they experimented with a cart years ago and found that the hose was so narrow it took forever to water the big stuff, so they gave up. Plus we would have to travel with our tanks and take them in and out of our vehicles multiple times a day, and I understand they weigh 40-70+ pounds EMPTY. Not something most of us want to do, especially with the various repetitive stress injuries that most of us already have!
