Morning glory seed might even sprout sooner if soaked longer. I would scratch them with some tool too.

forensicmom, I had a bunch of MG seeds sprout between damp coffee filters and paper towel in a plastic baggie---some of them already had leaves opening on them! If you haven't already planted them, go ahead and try it. If you do have leaves on them and they're still unplanted, I'd recommend keeping that first set of leaves above the potting mix. Mine were all curled up from growing in the baggies and I made the mistake of transplanting them too deeply. Still, some of that batch are going strong---a couple inches tall!

In any case, you will probably have at least some success, but you don't have anything to lose by trying :)

I started a lot of MG seeds this year and almost all of them made it; sprouts are good!
