I have a beautiful round, tall, and top heavy nikishi willow shrub. Wind is funneled to it because of small yards and adjacent houses so I've had to tie it down from two directions. This has worked very well, but I'm concerned about the rope which is breaking the fresh bark. I found a kit at garden store to run the rope through little sections of garden hose that would protect the trunk. This kit would work, but is it also possible for me to just wrap the trunk in something? What would be the appropriate wrap?
