your only problem.. most likely.. is your expectations..

they will bloom.. when they are ready to bloom.. and not one minute earlier ... its all about sexual maturity ...

if they live.. you win.. now relax.. and wait. ..

and no.. fertilizing will not speed maturity ... most likely its growing a root mass [if that is what they do] ... to aid in flower production ... and when it has enough roots to support flowering.. it will flower ...

ken is right, they will bloom on their own schedule, and only once. New growth will be produced around the mother plant that has bloomed, and these new shoots will bloom, again on their own schedule. They will tolerate being tight in the pots as the new shoots grow and that will not prevent their blooming. When you water they catch the water in the base of the leaves and they will take quite a lot of neglect. Al

I was reading up on these little plants as my sister gave me hers. She said it bloomed once but wouldn't bloom again. Now that I know there is a mature plant in there somewhere, I'm in a fix because I can see 3. One of the 3 is about to bloom....now what? How do you determine which is the mature plant after it has bloomed without seeing it?? Thanks!

And btw, it takes about 3-5 years before you'll see your first bloom from a pup. So patience is a must :)

After the blooming stem dries up, which may take a long time, you will have a hollow in the middle of the plant where the stem was. If the pot gets so crowded with plants there is no room for mix, you can go ahead and divide it up, potting each plant separately if you like, they are quick to root in new mix. I don't find it speeds up, or slows down the eventual new bloom. Of course I would get rid of the already bloomed part at this time. Al
