Leaves turning brown on hydrangea cuttings

Hello,

I am trying to propagate hydrangeas for the first time. I followed everything I read and have made a "mini greenhouse" for them out of two liter bottles. They are outside and are getting good sun. It has only been two days and the leaves have turned brown, but the stems are still nice. I am thinking I may have done something wrong and was hoping someone could tell me before I continue with my cuttings.

If they are in a "mini greenhouse" and getting "good sun", it sounds like they may be cooking!

Hydrangea does not like full sun even when it is full grown and not trapped in a bubble. This time of year at your location you can probably start Hydrangea which is an easy plant to propagate, outside in the shade in a proper mix. You will have to vent the plants every few days to let in some oxygen and prevent the growth of mold. Al
