The cuttings root very easily in plain soil without any rooting hormone (you can of course use it to hasten the rooting), just take a semi woody cutting about 5 inches long and insert in a pot of plain soil or any soil-less mixture with good drainage as well as water holding capacity (say Coir or vermiculite).. cover the pot with a plastic bag and place it in a bright spot with no direct sunlight.. after a week remove the covering... keep the mix moist but not soggy, within a month the cutting will root.. as this process requires a bit high temperature, you can use a heating mat or you can place the pot in a warmer location for the first week like backside of the refrigerator.. but you have to move it into a better lit are when the shoots start developing, otherwise they will be weak and fail to harden off in future..

We use transparent plastic bags to root the cuttings so we could actually see the developing roots, actually some times the root develop first some times the leaves, so unless both are developed we dont touch the cuttings. After the initiation of the roots + shoots, you can transfer these cuttings into lager pots and start fertilizing with fertilizers having N:P:K bigger middle number i.e high Phosphorus (we use commercial DAP which is Di-Ammonium Phosphate) in dilute quantities, this helps the developing roots instantly and plants start forming long and healthy shoots in no time...

Thanks, Izhar. Next time I'll try rooting in the plastic bags as you suggested so I can monitor the roots, too.

I'm happy to report that the wilted cutting recovered after I put them back into the chamber. When my parent plant grows a bit more, I'll take more cuttings.
