Would a blender be about the right size?

You can use any number of plastic containers. I use a 1/2 gallon apple juice container. You could use a gallon plastic milk container, but the neck is smaller and it'll be more difficult to get the lime in it. You'll need to shake the mixture to keep the reaction between the lime and vinegar going. Put your ear to it and see if it's fizzing like alka seltzer. That means carbon dioxide is being produced and the reaction isn't complete. When there's no more fizzing, it's ready. Let it settle and use the liquid diluted in water.

So what is the correct measurements of lime and vinegar to use.

This lime came in granular for kinda like aquarium gravel kinda wish it was powder I started with a 1/2 a cup of lime and 1 1/2 cups of vinegar. It's bubbling but not like Alka seltzer so I don't know......that recipe is Kevin from the smoke master brew thread.

I just make about 1/2 gallon of it few days ago.

They mentioned to add one TB spoon of the lime to one liter of vinegar. But I had to add more.

I would pour vinegar in a much bigger contained and start adding the lime ( tea spoon at a time), let react , .. lightly stir. Continure adding untill ther is no more reaction( No more co2 gas bubbling).

Adding more lime is safer , to make sure that all the Acetic Acid is used up, You will end up with some sediments, which is either impurity or excess CaCO3.

Let it site a day or longer and then sepearate the liquid ( Calcium Acetate solution) from the sediments. Remember that the solution is more than 95% water. Cause the vinegar is 95% water (5% acidity) and the chemical reaction also produces some H2O.

Well it seems to have stop slow bubbling and I have a lot of lime left in the bottom of the mason jar.
More vinegar?

No. You're going to have plenty of sediment. The vinegar will extract what it can.

You wouldn't want to reactivate the process. What is settled at the bottom can be used as ordinary lime (to increase pH in any bed ). You need more ? start a new batch.

I applied it this evening, I put a little under 3 tablespoons to 1 tablespoon of mg all purpose in a 2 gallon water can.
