Misting bed for cuttings

What is the most economical way to remove iron from the water from my well for a small misting bed, as all my cuttings are getting coated. Please don't tell me to call Culligan Man. Are there cartridge filters that are worth buying?

try a product meant for removing metals from pool water.

Citric acid reduces pH and form iron compound that dissolve more in water so no more getting coated. It's cheap like sugar. 0.5 - 1.0 gram citric acid per gallon water. May need to check and adjust pH (about 6.5) of water before use. Test on a few cuttings first.
