Here is one that bloomed two years ago and I had no idea it was going to bloom again. It is high up and even without getting on a ladder I fell yesterday and broken my little toe. So sorry I can not tell what it smells like. :( Barb

Thanks, I can not believe that I did that. It is painful and very purple. Would make a great color for a plumeria. LOL Barb

The last couple of days I had two more seedlings bloom, with one more at least to go. Here is the white one that also bloomed the same last year. Barb

Barb - How is your toe? I hope you are healing and being careful taking those pictures! Your seedlings look great!

    Congratulations on your babies!

My toes are feeling better but I still can not put on my shoe. My husband had surgery on his knee last week and I had to wear two soxes on that foot but the doctor said yes, some toes were broken and that they could not do much but he gave me a special shoe to wear. Thanks for asking. Barb

p.s. He is doing better also but might have to have that knee replaced. Hopefully the pain will go away and he will not have to have this surgery.

Glad to hear you and your hubby are feeling better, Barb! Sending healing thoughts your way! Take care!

Here is the last seedling that I know is blooming for me. This is the second time it has bloomed and both times it has been the same color. Barb

Barb.... I am soooooo jealous! I have 37 seedlings in sunny Florida where their dormancy is all of about 2 months. What is your secret??!! (I know you are a master seed starter!!)

I'm moving them to 7 gallon pots this weekend, they still have a 3 months of crazy heat and round the clock light even though I've moved them to 2pm shade. They are 2 years old and growing like weeds, fed weekly... they've grown 2'+ this year.... happy n healthy but no inflos :(
Maybe I'm just impatient... but jealous, because I see your magic seedlings blooming!
PLEASE tell me your secret of getting them to bloom !!

The secret is time.LOL Some of them are 7 years old and this is the only the second or first time they bloom. I did have one bloom after 3 years but I have so many that have never bloomed at all and they are 5 + years old. The other secret is that I have over 200 of them so it makes sense that some will bloom. Just hang in there, it will happen. Barb

    Hi Barb!!

Haven't been here in a while, but I saw that you broke your toe taking a pic?

I am so sorry.. I just had flashbacks of you warning me!! Broken toes hurt so much. I did that once when I had moved a table so that the Christmas tree could be in place, well at night, I didn't see the other table sticking out. Bam!! It was so painful.., I had to wear flats to work. I always wear heels when working so it was a while before I could get back. Argh !

My hubby had his knee replaced last year... now he is happy.. But ask him right after, aaaaaaaa.. Don't ask him. It was a lot of hard work for both of us. If I can give you one piece of advise.. If they offer to let him go to a rehab facility for a few days after surgery, say yes! My hubby thought he would be fine. Well... Nurse Laura, had to do everything including moving him everywhere if you understand. It was very hard on both of us. He is a big guy and it was difficult ... Next knee, rehab facility for a few days. He will ask for that!! I needed a rehab facility after taking care of him!! ;-). A place that is calm, quiet and loaded with Lavender fields ...

Good luck.. Great blooms too!! Just wanted to say hi and that I was thinking of you!

    Take care,

    Xo

Barb, here is the back side of mine as promised...a bit late...some of the petals are starting to curl which is kind of cool....roxanne

Thank Roxanne for the picture. The sun seems to fade the reds more then I like.

Laura, I did not broke my toes taking pictures. I was giving some ants cornmeal, which they say will get rid of them and I turned wrong and my toe was mashed against a pole which my husband put up so the hose would not go in my flower bed. I fell and bend those toes and broke a couple of them. They still hurt but it will take time. My husband only had his knee clean out this time, not sure if he will have the replacement since he is a terrible at doing what the doctor says. He fall twice since he has come home and he has really heard a lot from me, much more then he wants to. :)

I had my knee replaced in 2007 but came right home after a couple of days in the hospital. I am really glad that I did it but would hate to have to do the other one. I got around by myself and only used the walker for one day.

Sure glad I was not up a ladder, so don't forget to be careful. Barb
